Beautiful hanging on any door
These home-made wreaths are never a bore!

Abhishay Valand, age 6

What Abhishay told us about his decoration: “It’s a paper wreath made of 2 paper plates stapled together face to face with the middles cut out, so it looks like a paper donut shape.

There are red, green and orange strips of A4 paper, each around 3cm thick. They are thread through the big hole of the donut and each one glued together on the outside edge of the paper plate to form a glued loop. These loops overlap each other until they form a circle. The outside edge of each of the strips is cut triangularly so it looks like a bow end.

It has then been decorated with stickers and drawn patterns.

There is a hole at the top and some string is thread through to form a loop so it can be hung from a tree.”

Ria Isabella Alicia Kane, age 9

What Ria told us about her decoration: “Ria used her hand prints for the reindeers antlers. She also used a paper plate to make her wreath. She also decorated some mini stars, a penguin and Santa for the tree! It was a challenge as she doesn’t tolerate messy play but was optimistic to create.”

Image description: Ria’s wreath has been made by cutting a circle out of the middle of a paper plate. She has coloured the plate in green and decorated it with red and yellow circles and snowflake confetti. She has also made a reindeer by collaging paper and using hand prints for his antlers. He has a round red nose and pink feathers for hair. She has also decorated some wooden ornaments – a penguin, star and Santa.

Daniel  Longmore, age 9

What Daniel told us about his decoration: “Christmas wreath made with colourful string and sparkly pom poms.”

Image description: Daniel’s wreath is a ring of card with different coloured wools wrapped around it. He has used pink, yellow, red and blue and then stuck big, sparkly pom poms on top which are all different colours. The wreath is hung from the top of a tree using ribbon.
