Known as the birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence is a romantic and enchanting place to experience world-class art and gourmet Tuscan cuisine and soak up the artisan culture. A designated UNESCO World Heritage site, there will be plenty to explore its narrow, cobbled streets lined with boutique shops and independent restaurants while soaking up the artisan culture.
Pisa contains one of Italy’s signature sights – Torre Pendente; better known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Pisa now welcomes over a million tourists a year to this architectural gem gone famously wrong. Away from the tower we will experience Pisa’s vibrant café and bar scene, balancing Romanesque buildings with Gothic churches – a charm you cannot miss.
We have several exciting opportunities arranged for our time in Italy such as spending a day at the Villoresi perfume museum and visiting the world’s third biggest church, the Santa Maria Del Fiore.
We are looking for up-beat, energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to join us. You are expected to assist with sighted guiding, at mealtimes and facilitating social opportunities while allowing the young adults to be as independent as possible. Volunteers may be required to share a room with another volunteer or a member of VICTA staff. Breakfasts are provided during our stay in Italy but please note that you will need to pay for lunch and dinner each day. Volunteers are also required to ensure that they have adequate travel insurance in place for the duration of the trip however please do not purchase this until a place on this activity has been confirmed.
Please note – to qualify for this activity you will have needed to have volunteered on at least one UK based VICTA activity already.
If you are new to volunteering with VICTA, please sign up as a new volunteer before registering interest in this activity. Complete the form here >
