McDonald’s Fun Football is hosting free football coaching sessions for children aged 5 to 11 who are blind or partially sighted. Its focus is to give children the confidence to learn new football skills, make new friends and have fun.
The upcoming sessions are in Birmingham and are being delivered by The Albion Foundation. There will be a total of 5 sessions, all of which will take place between 2pm and 4pm.
Session dates and locations:
Sunday 7 July, 2-4pm – Portway Lifestyle Centre, Newbury Lane, Oldbury, B69 1HE
Sunday 21 July, 2-4pm – Wyndley Leisure Centre, Clifton Rd, The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, B73 6EB

The VICTA Offer
- VICTA will cover travel expenses up to £50 for those taking part in the McDonald’s Fun Football sessions in Birmingham
- If your child attends up to 2 sessions, VICTA will cover up to £10 travel expenses
- If your child attends 3 or more sessions, VICTA will cover up to £50 travel expenses
- This offer only applies to the cost of the travel for a young person with a vision impairment between 5-11 years old
- Please also note that this is a limited offer and VICTA reserve the right to close it once we reach capacity.
To benefit from this offer, you must:
- Be eligible for the age category identified for McDonald’s Fun Football sessions (5 to 11 year olds)
- Be registered or registerable blind or partially sighted (VICTA may ask for a copy of your child’s registration documents or a letter from an ophthalmologist as confirmation).
Payment of travel expenses is subject to proof of attendance at the relevant sessions (a simple photo of your child enjoying the sessions) and travel receipts/mileage claim. Funds are limited so please get your applications in early. Reimbursement will be processed after the event.
