GROUND CONTROL TO MAJOR VICTA; Commencing Countdown, Engines ON!

Take flight with us at iFLY in Manchester for an out of this world experience as we defy gravity and float on a pad of air.

This VIP activity provides two freefall flights accompanied by trained and qualified instructors.  You will receive a digital photo and a digital movie of your experience as well as a personalised flight certificate.

This activity is expected to run from approximately 4pm to 6pm on the Saturday 30 November, however timings will be confirmed closer to the date.

The venue has accessibility in mind: floor plans have been specifically designed to be free of obstructions allowing for ease of access.  The venue has lift access directly to the wind tunnel.  Wheelchairs can be fully manoeuvred into all areas of the building including right up to the flight entrance.

VICTA Staff will complete a health and safety waiver on your behalf for this activity; if you have any questions about this, please get in touch with the Activities team on activities@victa.org.uk (Please note that you are unable to fly if you have previously dislocated a shoulder).

Who can apply?

You must be:

  • Registered or registrable as blind or partially sighted
  • At least 14 years old and no older than 17 years old on 30 November 2024
  • Physically, socially and emotionally able to take part independently in a group setting with peers of a similar age
  • Able to communicate their needs independently
  • Able to take medication independently (if applicable)

Eye condition

If this is the first VICTA activity that you are applying for, please note that applicants must be registered sight impaired or severely sight impaired, or be able to provide proof that they are registerable. Any information or documents supplied must include the applicant’s name, date of birth and visual acuity.
Supporting documentation
If the applicant is registered, please include a copy of one of the following registration documents: - Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI) - Blind Registration Card issued by local authority If the applicant is not registered, please provide: - a letter from an ophthalmologist confirming visual acuity. Please note, applications cannot be processed without these documents.
