It’s warming up, Spring is here!
Spring is here, and it’s definitely my favourite season. It’s when the UK starts to warm up from the chilly winter. It’s when the bulbs come out and the grass becomes lush and green! It’s when birds start chirping again and when nature is reborn!

My favourite part of Spring is when the daffodils come out. As someone with a visual impairment, seeing the yellow or white flowers of daffodils against the green grass helps me signify that springtime has arrived.
Daffodils are known as Narcissus in the horticultural world, there is Greek mythology linked to it! If anyone would like to know the story, let me know!
Daffodils have long, monocotyledon leaves. If you depend on your sense of touch, they feel long and narrow. My personal favourite Daffodil is Narcissus Barrett Browning. They have bright white petals that surround a deep orange trumpet.
I also love Tulips! They come out in late March to May, they are very colourful and beautiful. Tulips are know as Tulipa in Latin. I don’t have a favourite, as I love them all!
