VICTA is delighted to announce our partnership with the British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF). British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF) has been providing specially adapted audio equipment to blind and partially sighted people across the UK since 1929. The charity helps thousands of people with sight loss to access audio content that can help reduce their isolation and improve their daily lives. The partnership will provide accessible technology to children and young people living with sight loss across the UK.
Thanks to the BWBF, the families VICTA supports will be able to benefit from cutting-edge audio devices to support young people with sight loss in their daily lives, education, and social development. The technology offering includes Alexa smart speakers for voice-controlled access to information and entertainment, VoxBlock players for accessible audio content and educational materials, and Morphée sleep aids to support healthy sleep patterns and relaxation.
Sophie Jones, Chief Executive at British Wireless for the Blind Fund, said:
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with VICTA to provide accessible technology to children and young people with sight loss. Through this collaboration, we will be making available essential devices that will help blind and partially sighted young people and children to learn, play, and connect with others more independently. At British Wireless for the Blind Fund, we believe that every child deserves access to technology that can enhance their daily lives, and this partnership with VICTA helps us deliver on that commitment.”
This initiative represents a significant step forward in ensuring that blind and partially sighted children and young people have access to the tools they need to thrive in both educational and social settings. The partnership will focus on making these devices available through VICTA’s established networks and support systems.
