Chocolate Fondue
A quick pudding for a crowd, bbq or even a dinner party. It is super simple and fun.
What do I need?
200g dark chocolate, broken into small pieces
200g milk chocolate broken into small pieces
200ml double cream
3 tbsp (45g) golden syrup
Equipment
Microwave saucepan
Spoon
Measuring scales for cream
Kebab sticks
Knife and chopping board
Serving plate
Measuring jug
Method
Place all the ingredients into a microwave saucepan.
Place into the microwave and heat on high for 1 minute at a time, to melt the chocolate. Try not to stir too much as the mixture can become really thick. If it is too thick, add a splash of milk and stir.
Use kebab sticks to dip your food into this smooth, silky sauce.
What can I dip into Chocolate Fondue?
A better question, what can you NOT dip in chocolate fondue? I’m of the opinion that everything tastes better with chocolate on it, so get creative here!
Here are some of our favourites:
- Fresh fruit such as strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, bananas, kiwi, pineapple, grapes
- Store–bought biscuits such as Oreos, shortbread, Amaretti biscuits, even gingerbread men
- Other treats such as pieces of sponge cake, brownies chopped up (store-bought or homemade), large marshmallows, Mikado, meringues, brandy snaps, pretzels, pieces of brioche, Turkish delight, mini doughnuts
Top tips
Try and use blocks of chocolate not cake covering or chocolate chips as they will harden quickly due to the fat content.
Use cheaper own label brand bars.
Why not try melting a Toblerone instead of the milk chocolate?
Go back to the party!
